Knowledge is worth more when it travels beyond the organisation that holds it.

As part of the Women Entrepreneur Awards 2026, Cindy Choong, Chief Financial Officer of Medine Group, joined the Financial Literacy Workshop to share insights from her professional journey and perspectives on financial literacy with women entrepreneurs.

At Medine, we believe in contributing to the conversations that support the people and communities shaping tomorrow. Connecting expertise with entrepreneurial ambition is one of them.

Thank you to Women Entrepreneur Awards for creating a platform for meaningful exchange and collaboration.

The establishment of the Swansea University Medical School Indian Ocean (SUMSIO) marks an important new chapter for medical education in Mauritius and the wider region. In this context, we were proud to facilitate the UK–Mauritius Medical Educators Symposium, hosted by Swansea University at the Uniciti International Education Hub (UIEH), Medine Group’s education cluster.

The symposium brought together nearly 40 doctors and healthcare professionals for an engaging exchange on medical education. It provided an opportunity to explore Swansea University’s approach to medical training and its ambition to develop highly skilled, adaptable doctors equipped for the evolving needs of modern healthcare systems.

A key focus was the Graduate Entry Medicine (GEM) programme, planned to be offered at the UIEH campus in September 2027. As highlighted by Professor Ffion Williams, Head of Swansea University Medical School, the programme will bring a distinctive offering to Mauritius and the region: an accelerated four-year pathway for graduates, combining early clinical exposure, hands-on learning and the academic standards of a leading UK medical school.

Importantly, the partnership goes beyond training doctors. Discussions at the symposium also highlighted the potential for collaboration in medical research, innovation, knowledge exchange and capacity building. By connecting Swansea’s academic and research expertise with Mauritian clinicians, healthcare institutions and educators, SUMSIO has the potential to contribute to a stronger and more innovative healthcare ecosystem.

This symposium therefore represents more than an academic event. It is another important milestone in the partnership between Swansea University and UIEH and in our shared ambition to build something of lasting regional significance.

Our vision is clear: to create new opportunities for aspiring doctors, strengthen medical education and research, and contribute to positioning Mauritius as a regional hub for higher education, healthcare and innovation in the Indian Ocean.

Twenty years have flown by.

Looking back on how far we have come since the beginning, it is the friendly faces and shared moments that come to mind first.

Behind every green and every day spent at the club is the dedication of our team who have been with us since day one, the passion of our members, and the everyday life of our residents. Over the last two decades, Tamarina Golf Club has become so much more than just a golf course. It is a genuine community and a second home for so many of us.

Thank you to everyone who keeps the heart of this estate beating day in and day out.

Happy Birthday, Tamarina!

📚 L’éducation continue de prendre forme à The West.
