NINE TIPS FOR YOUR PHYSICS SEC EXAM
1. Bring the essentials: Make sure you have a biro (blue or black ink), a 30cm ruler, a protractor, a calculator, and a sharpened pencil.
2. As soon as you receive the paper, write down your index number (and tell yourself: “I will succeed!”).
3. Remember that all equations are provided except for:
• Electricity Bill = Power (kilowatts) × Time (hours) × cost per unit (cents or Euro)
• Efficiency = Useful energy output / Total energy input × 100%
4. Read ALL questions thoroughly.
5. Units are super important (And yes, I know... Refractive Index and Magnification are the exceptions as they do not have units).
6. When drawing a graph, always include a TITLE and LABEL the axis (Students: “Iva sir, diġa għidtilna elf darba !!!).
7. When asked to "explain," make sure to include specific scientific KEYWORDS in your answer.
8. Always show your WORKING and UNDERLINE your final answer.
9. As Ms Ingrid Vella taught me: if a question starts with "What is...", you probably already know the answer!
