Last month the Gozo College embarked on a new initiative for Year 2 students entitled STEMtopia: Shaping curious thinkers through play. This problem-based initiative aims to engage students in authentic, fun STEM activities outside the classroom. The event was held at Wistin Dingli playing field at Xewkija.

Embed Gozo was hosted for the first time at the Gozo College on the 5th and 6th of May. Year 3 students from various schools took part in engaging, hands-on workshops exploring robotics, coding and computational thinking.
A heartfelt thank you to Xagħra Primary for hosting the event and to the Digital Literacy Support Team within DDLTS for their impeccable work!

On Monday, 4th May2026, the Primary Science Fair for Year 5 students kicked off at the Gozo College and was held at Għarb Primary School.
It was wonderful to see students so engaged and enjoying hands-on experiences that brought science to life. Events like this play an important role in fostering a love for science among our young learners.
A heartfelt thanks to all contributors who participated and made the fair such a success. Special thanks to Ms Marthese Attard for hosting the event at her school, and to Ms Beverly Pace (Head of Department – Science) for her coordination.
The Primary Science Fair will continue throughout this week in MICAS Floriana.

Three Gozo College support teachers are currently participating in a course titled “5 Steps to Improve Teaching and Learning”, which is being held in Nice, France between the 13th and 18th of April. The participants, Claire Micallef, Jocelyn Jones, and Vicky Grech, are attending this professional development programme as part of their ongoing commitment to enhancing their teaching practice. The course is funded through the Gozo College Accreditation funds under the Erasmus+ programme. It focuses on equipping educators with practical strategies and evidence-based approaches to improve teaching and learning outcomes. The knowledge and skills gained during this training are expected to positively contribute to their professional development and benefit their students.

Three Deputy Heads from Gozo College Ġużé Aquilina Primary & Special Unit Sannat (Philip Cachia, Mary Jude Camilleri, and Lorna Camilleri), recently participated in the training course “PROMOTING CULTURAL DIVERSITY AND TOLERANCE – THEATRE AND INCLUSION” held in Barcelona, Spain.
The course took place between 26th March and 1st April 2026 and focused on fostering inclusion and celebrating cultural diversity through theatre and drama. This valuable professional development opportunity was funded through the Accreditation Funds (Erasmus+) at the Gozo College.
During the course, our Deputy Heads of School explored innovative approaches to inclusive education. The knowledge and experience gained will contribute positively to the school community and support inclusive practices.
