Sacred Heart Minor Seminary Gozo

Three teachers from the school participated last week in an Erasmus+ job-shadowing mobility as part of the activities carried out under the school's ongoing Erasmus+ Accreditation.
The educators considered the Erasmus+ job-shadowing mobility hosted by IES Nicolás Copérnico, in Écija, Seville, to be a highly valuable professional development experience. Through structured engagement with the school’s leadership team, classroom observations across various subject areas, and meaningful exchanges with teaching staff, they gained valuable insights into innovative pedagogical practices, inclusive education strategies, digital learning integration, and approaches to supporting students with diverse educational needs. The job shadowing also provided an opportunity to explore the school's commitment to cultural education and student development beyond the classroom. Overall, the experience fostered professional reflection, enhanced intercultural understanding, strengthened collaborative networks, and reinforced the importance of European cooperation in advancing educational quality and innovation.

We are proud to announce that our school has recently been awarded the prestigious 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 in the Book Champion Schools Awards initiative, organised by the Literacy and Information Support Unit within L-Aġenzija Nazzjonali tal-Litteriżmu.
At a time when reading is becoming increasingly challenging for many students, this award recognises our ongoing efforts to foster a love of reading, encourage reading for pleasure, and promote a strong reading culture throughout our school community.

Our Form 3 D&T students proudly completed their Night Light Project! 💡

Using their design folios, students developed their ideas from concept to final product. They designed a wooden base that was laser cut, created engraved acrylic panels according to their theme using a laser engraver, and assembled electronic circuits soldered onto veroboards. The project provided valuable experience in design, manufacturing, electronics, and problem-solving, resulting in a unique and functional night light. Well done to all involved! 👏

As an end of year treat, Form 4 students learning Italian visited a gelateria artigianale near our school, where they had the opportunity to ask for a refreshing gelato by speaking in Italian with a native speaker. They also visited their laboratorio del gelato. Grazie, Gabriele!
