The Chamber of Fashion Malta Foundation was honoured to play a key role in Fashion Jam 2026, a spectacular showcase of talent supporting the Malta Crafts Foundation and DesignMT.

This weekend was a true celebration of international collaboration. In partnership with the French Embassy in Malta, we were thrilled to welcome French fashion designer Cassandre Lemeilleur, the visionary behind Amour Collective, to join the panel of judges.

🧵 The Challenge
Teams were pushed to their absolute limits, tasked with taking a garment from initial concept to final creation in just 24 hours. The dedication, late-night stitching, and raw talent on display were nothing short of inspiring.

💡 Mentorship & Wisdom
Throughout the weekend, Cassandre and the esteemed judges didn’t just critique, they mentored. They shared invaluable industry wisdom, guiding students through technical hurdles and helping them refine their artistic voices. It was a truly wholesome experience seeing the synergy between established icons and the next generation of designers.

Italian fashion designer has passed away at age 93.

Last Saturday, Lucille Cachia, Public Relations & Media Director, and Gabriella Lukacs, Crafts & Sustainability Director of the Chamber of Fashion Malta Foundation, were invited to attend a remarkable showcase at the Blue Box Theatre.

The intimate setting proved to be the perfect choice, allowing the audience to experience every detail up close and become truly immersed in the journey crafted by rising fashion talent Matias Cassar—a 20-year-old MCAST student now embarking on his BA (Hons) in Fashion.

Known for his focus on feminine silhouettes and his admiration for strong, influential women, Matias pushed boundaries with a collection that fearlessly explored one of Malta’s most pressing and often unspoken realities: the emotional impact of the island’s rapid construction.

Through six evocative garments, he translated each stage of this experience into a symbolic and visually striking narrative, guiding the audience through a mesmerising realm of reflection and raw emotion. Matias’ innovative and thought-provoking approach to fashion didn’t just impress—it captivated and deeply resonated.

A bold voice with a remarkable vision, Matias is undoubtedly one to watch.
