Third Biennial Meeting of Mens et Mensa:
Society for the Study of Food in the Middle Ages

for presentation at the annual meeting of the
Mediterranean Studies Association
31 May - 3 June 2017, Malta

Mens et Mensa: The Society for the Study of Food in the Middle Ages, invites proposals for sessions sponsored by the society during the annual meeting of The Mediterranean Studies Association, scheduled for 31 May – 3 June 2017 at the University of Malta.

Proposals may address any issues involving ideas, practices and artifacts related to food in the medieval Mediterranean world.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPOSALS

Interested participants must provide, by 1 February 2017:

• an abstract of 150 words, and
• a one-page curriculum vitae

All proposers must clearly indicate, in their curricula vitae:

• full name
• institutional affiliation (if any)
• email address
• postal address
• telephone number

Please send the abstract and curriculum vitae as attachments via email to John Bollweg, secretary of Mens et Mensa, at [email protected]

IMPORTANT

-Selected papers from Mens et mensa sessions will be published after the conference.

-Please note that:

• all proposals are subject to acceptance by Mens et Mensa AND by the Mediterranean Studies Association
• all proposers must be paid members of both Mens et Mensa (USD $20 per year) and the Mediterranean Studies Association (USD $60 per year)
• all proposers must complete payment of membership dues for Mens et Mensa and the Mediterranean Studies Association by 1 April 2017
• all proposers must complete conference registration ($260) with the Mediterranean Studies Association by 8 April 2017
