Children are at the centre of everything we do and at Peekaboo we are committed to working with you to provide the ideal program for your child. From the day they are born to the day they start school, children grow at a truly remarkable age with more than 80% of their brain development taking place at this time. 🌿🎨 **A new resource has arrived at Peekaboo!** 🏺✨

Today, we introduced a wonderful new resource to our atelier **the art wheel!** 🌀

Ms Magda and her little group of art enthusiasts stepped into the wonderful world of clay, but this time, with a special twist! 🤎 The children explored the movement of the wheel and discovered the different shapes and forms they could create as they gently worked and rotated the clay.

We took this beautiful experience outdoors, where the fresh air, the rhythmic movement of the wheel, and the sensory nature of clay made the activity feel truly **therapeutic and calming** for our tiny tots. 🥰🌿

Little hands, big imaginations, and lots of messy, creative fun! ✨🤲🏻

💙 Creating a calming sensory experience at Peekaboo 💙

Ms Carmen and Ms Jessa have been busy creating a beautiful sensory experience for the youngest members of Peekaboo. 🥰

Using soothing shades of blue, intricate hanging and flowing textiles for our little ones to observe, sensory light tables, and relaxing music, they have created a peaceful and calming atmosphere designed to engage their senses and encourage exploration. ✨

A gentle space where our babies can pause, observe, discover and simply enjoy the sensory world around them. 💙🌿

🔎 Who said unwanted household foods can’t be used as loose parts for play? 🥔✨

Today, a group of children explored potatoes that had been kept in the dark for a very long time. Some had started to grow roots, while others had begun to shrivel.

The children engaged all their senses and curiosity: smelling the earthy scent, feeling the wrinkled skin and uneven textures, observing the roots, and deciding for themselves how they wanted to investigate. Some children carefully cut away the roots, while others took their potatoes under the microscope for a closer look. 🔬

These are the moments when we know true education is happening. ⭐️

When children are given open-ended, unexpected materials, they are free to explore, question, discover, problem-solve and learn along the way.

This is the beauty of the Reggio Emilia approach at its best seeing possibilities where others might see waste, and trusting children to turn everyday materials into meaningful learning experiences. 🌱

✨ **A little Peekaboo refresh!** ✨

During our August shutdown, management have been busy behind the scenes making a few **minor changes** to give Peekaboo a fresh feel for the new term! 💛

We’ve given the walls a fresh coat of paint, reorganised some spaces, added a few new resources for our kiddos, and given the whole place a lovely sparkly clean! 🧹✨

Nothing too major just a few little touches to make Peekaboo feel fresh, welcoming and ready for our little ones. 🥰

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back **next Monday!** 🌈🧸

🪩✨ **Little Dancers, Big Imagination!** ✨🪩

These kids just LOVE to dance! 💃🕺 And today, our toddlers turned Peekaboo into their very own **EPIC Boogie Party!** 🎶🌟

Inspired by the **Reggio Emilia approach**, we created magical *Pandora’s Boxes* suitcases filled with exciting, open-ended materials waiting to be discovered! 🧳✨

Inside were shimmering fabrics, sequinned dresses, hats, scarves, belts, bangles and so much more! 👗🎩🧣✨

A special part of our boogie adventure was giving **old dresses kindly donated by our Peekaboo families** a new life. ♻️💚 Rather than throwing them away, we transformed them into wonderful resources for imaginative play, encouraging the children to explore, create, express themselves and make their own choices.

The children rummaged, dressed up, accessorised, danced and experimented with the materials in their own unique ways turning recycled treasures into **sparkling opportunities for creativity and self-expression**. 🌈✨

And, of course… **they had an absolute BLAST!** 🪩🎶💃

Because when children are given the freedom to explore, imagine and create, even an old dress can become the beginning of something magical. 💕

Did you know that after a Maltese festa, we celebrate ix-Xalata? 🇲🇹🍉

Ix-Xalata is a beautiful Maltese tradition that marks the end of weeks of festa preparations. It's a time for many festa enthusiasts to head to the beach, unwind, and enjoy a relaxing day with family and friends.

Here is our own take on the post-festa ix-Xalata!

The children were given watermelons as a loose parts play invitation a fruit that is synonymous with Maltese summers. 🍉

Some scooped out the flesh, others enjoyed tasting it, some carefully picked out the pips, while others squeezed the juice. Such a simple, natural resource sparked endless curiosity, exploration, and learning.

It was wonderful to see so many different learning opportunities unfold through sensory play, fine motor development, language, scientific discovery, and creativity all from one seasonal fruit!
