Chiswick House School & St Martin's College - Malta

Chiswick House School & St Martin's College - Malta Celebrating 120 years of inspiring learning, confidence, and growth as a co-educational school in Malta for pupils aged 3 to 18 years.

Our belief is that children can realise their full potential within a well-ordered and challenging educational setting. We have established a framework of real values that aims at ensuring the acquisition of basic skills within an exciting programme which implements a broad based curriculum and translates into high academic achievement. The Curriculum ensures continuity - starting from Early Years

and ending at Sixth Form level. It has been developed through continuous updating processes that have retained the essential basics while adopting key new developments. The use of technology in the classroom, the importance of sharing educational experiences with others, in Malta and abroad, the introduction of Performance Management and the 'thinking in time' approach are but a few innovative practices already in place. We have seen how children can flourish within a climate that respects individuality, allows for creative expression and gives space to explore new ideas within safe parameters. We believe that the images on this page clearly capture this climate. Learning is such a natural and wonderful phenomenon but such a complex one! Self-discipline and excellent home-school relations are key components of success. Parents are viewed as keen collaborators in all school activities and essential stakeholders throughout their children's Early, Junior, Middle, Senior and Sixth Form years. It is our hope that every student will leave Chiswick House School and St Martin's College equipped with happy images of precious moments in time, an array of academic achievements and a well-developed personality. In short, educated human beings who value competence, diversity, spirituality and life.

Last week, we went all hands on deck for our Pirate Dress-Up Day as part of our Set Sail Summer School programme.

Our little pirates certainly came prepared, with the crew looking ready to set sail for the day. Well done to everyone who joined in and made this fun initiative such a success!

Early Years holds a distinct significance within a child’s education.

It is where the foundations of learning begin to take shape and where confidence, character and curiosity are nurtured from the very start.

These early experiences become part of everything that follows; shaping how each learner see’s the world and how they grow throughout their time at CHSMC.

Every learning journey begins with a simple enquiry.

We’re sailing into the final week of our Set Sail adventure!

So far, we’ve welcomed a special visit from the MMSA, bounced our way through a surprise bouncy castle, made delicious fruit kebabs and had plenty of chances to get creative and make new friends.

There is still plenty more in store for our final week, watch this space!

There’s still plenty happening at SMC Summer School!

From treasure hunting through the streets of Valletta and horse riding on the farm to snorkelling in the waters of Comino, our students have been keeping busy with plenty of adventure as part of our SMC Summer School programme.

Engineering skills were put to the test too, with our students building a bridge strong enough to hold 20kg, alongside hiking at Riviera, searching for fossils along the way and a well-earned swim to cool off!

On to Week 7!

Five of our CHSMC educators recently participated in an Advanced AI in Education training course in Dublin.

The course provided participants with the opportunity to explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence and its practical applications within education. Sessions focused on topics such as AI-powered teaching and learning, prompt engineering, educational app development, multimedia content creation, personalised learning, and the ethical and responsible use of AI in schools.

In addition to gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of AI tools, participants collaborated with educators from across Europe, exchanging ideas, experiences and best practices while exploring innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

We are excited to see how the knowledge and skills gained through this course will support CHSMC's continued commitment to educational innovation and digital transformation.

Our participating educators look forward to sharing their learning with colleagues and exploring meaningful ways to continue integrating artificial intelligence into classroom practice, enhancing student learning and preparing our learners for an increasingly digital future.
