Dragon Boat Festival. ๐๐ฅ
A celebration of poet Qu Yuan, of rice dumplings, and of long narrow boats racing on the water. Newarkโs forty-five nationalities include families who mark this day at home, and today we mark it with them. ๐
Happy Duanwu to all who are celebrating.

Middle School is where things shift.
Ages 8 to 13 is the stretch where children start asking who they are, what they care about, and what they can do without their parents in the room. Newarkโs Middle School builds character around academics, with the first Erasmus+ travel opportunities for students at this stage.
September 2026 enrolment for Middle School is open.

Forty-five nationalities. Small classes. Every student known by name. ๐
Newark teachers work with class groups small enough to track each childโs progress weekly. That means a quiet reader doesnโt disappear, and a confident speaker doesnโt dominate. Both get what they need. ๐
Now accepting applications for September 2026.

World Oceans Day. ๐๐๏ธ
Living on an island, this oneโs close to home. Newark students study marine ecology, coastal change, and plastic pollution as part of regular science, with field trips along Maltaโs coast and project work tied into Erasmus+ environmental themes.
A small action for today: walk a stretch of shoreline with your child and pick up what shouldnโt be there. The conversation that follows is the lesson. ๐

๐๐ฒ๐น We are delighted to share that our students, Kristin and Ognyan, proudly represented Malta as part of a folklore group during an international cultural event held in Munich, Germany, from 14th to 18th May 2026. ๐ฉ๐ชโจ
This incredible experience provided them with the opportunity to showcase Maltaโs rich traditions and cultural heritage while meeting young people from different countries, exchanging experiences, and building lasting friendships. ๐ค๐
We are immensely proud of Kristin and Ognyan for the enthusiasm, dedication, and pride with which they represented both Malta and Newark School on an international stage. ๐๐
Well done to both students on this wonderful achievement! ๐๐ฒ๐น

Sette Giugno. A national day that matters here. ๐ฒ๐น
Today Malta remembers the 1919 protests and the four lives lost. At Newark, our forty-five nationalities study and play together, and on days like today we make space for the Maltese story that holds it all. ๐๏ธ

World Environment Day. ๐ฑ๐
Newark students plant, test soil, study local ecology, and work on environmental projects through Erasmus+. The classroom walks outside more often than most people expect.
Todayโs a good day to plant something with your child, anything from a herb pot to a tomato seedling. The school year teaches the rest. โป๏ธ
