After some research, I believe the infection of my ear is Swimmer's Ear (Otitis Externa), rather than the inner ear infection. All described symptomps apply.

I seem to have a middle ear infection. The eardrum is slightly bent outwards due to fluid building up and causing pain. If not taken care of by staying out of the water and taking antibiotics, there is a risk of rupturing the eardrum from the inside outwards. So no diving these days. Thirteen years of diving and this is the first time I feel this level of discomfort and needing medicine for it.
O'Neill Grading System Middle-ear barotrauma can be graded easily with the O'Neil grading system. The systems helps with treatment from middle-ear barotrauma.

Feeling unwell signal
Have you been on a dive and suddenly felt ill? It can be a scary situation, especially when you're underwater and can't communicate with your buddy effectively.
PADI has developed a new hand signal for "I don't feel well" that all divers should know about. This simple signal can be a game-changer in a situation where every second counts. It's a simple signal where you draw a big oval in front of your head and torso with your fingers pointing toward you.
Having a prearranged communication plan with your buddy is crucial, but without a specific signal for illness, it can be difficult to convey what's wrong. By learning this new hand signal, you'll not only increase your own awareness of the importance of communicating when you feel unwell, but you'll also be able to prompt your buddy to inform you sooner if they're not feeling their best.
If you're curious about the new hand signal, be sure to read the full article here: https://dan.org/alert-diver/article/dan-dispatch-new-hand-signal-communicates-illness/.
