📢 Attention Year 9, 10 & 11 Students! 🇪🇺

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a Member of the European Parliament for a day?

✨ Euroscola 2027 offers students aged 14-18 the unique opportunity to visit the European Parliament in Strasbourg and take part in debates, discussions, negotiations and voting sessions alongside students from all 27 EU Member States!

🗓 How to qualify? ✅ Take part in a school Kahoot quiz on 27th October 2026 ✅ The top 12 scoring students will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Euroscola programme in Strasbourg on 5th March 2027 ✅ Students must be 14 years or older by 5th March 2027

💶 A subsidy of approximately €550 per participating student is available.

📚 Students will also need to pass a national competition organised by the European Parliament Liaison Office. Preparation for this competition involves studying Chapters 3 and 4 of the EU & ME booklet.

Towards the end of the scholastic year, four students represented our school in the Code Sprint coding competition: Valerio Pirillo, Matt Seetoo, Ziyan Wu, and Qicheng Sun.
We are delighted that two of our students, Valerio and Ziyan reached the finals and placed second and third overall respectively (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1FGF6DquV2/). We are very proud of all four students for their excellent achievement. Thank you and well done for making our School proud!

During May, personnel from the Commissioner for Children and Youth Workers at Agenzija Zghazagh held two sessions with a group of Year 9 and Year 10 students to discuss this year’s ENYA project: Rights of LGBTIQ+ children and young people and those with LGBTIQ+ parents. The two sessions were finished off with eight proposals to ensure that LGBTIQ+ children, young people or those with LGBTIQ+ parents have better access to their rights. Two students, one from Year 9 (Nikita Elisabeth Schroder) and one from Year 10 (Jude Bzezi), were chosen to represent Malta in Dublin as part of the ENYA project.

Jude Bzezi will be sharing her experience:
On the day we arrived, we had dinner with the people we would be working with to get to know them before we started. On the second day, we did several activities to get to know the people coming from 10 different countries. Later that day, we had a scavenger hunt to find important monuments in Dublin, such as Molly Malone, Liberty Hall, and the Four Courts. On the third day, we had five topics with many recommendations, which we summarised into 2-3 recommendations per topic. On the same day, Mary Lawlor, a former UN special rapporteur for human rights defenders, shared her experiences and described the work she had done. Finally, on the last day, we walked along Main Street in Dublin and tried traditional Irish food before everyone left for their own countries.

Fantastic news for our year 7 student Hanchang Wang who was part of the Malta Team that participated in the Mathematics Without Borders Tournament held between the 3rd and 7th July in Nessebar, Bulgaria. Around 900 students from 11 different countries participated in the final round of the tournament. In the individual round, Hanchang won a Bronze medal in his category (Category 5). Well done for this great achievement!

Love, kindness, and giving were at the heart of our Student Council’s activities this February. 💝

On the 12th and 13th of February, our Student Council organised a Sweet Treat Sale featuring delicious jam tarts and pink lamingtons, together with a market, all in aid of Noah’s Ark. Thanks to the generosity and support of our school community, €475 was raised for this worthy cause.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day and spread a little extra kindness, personalised messages were attached to Baci chocolates and distributed to our dedicated staff members as a heartfelt token of appreciation.

Thank you to everyone who supported these initiatives and helped spread kindness throughout our school community. ❤️
