What an experience! Our school participated in the Let’s Talk Farming Programme, where more than 35 activities were held. Our students had the opportunity to visit various farms, take part in hands‑on activities, and appreciate local produce. It was great fun seeing all our students out of the classroom, enjoying outdoor learning and engaging with the world around them.

Well done to two of our students, Adam from Year 4 and Dimitrios from Year 6, who won a prize in the World Book Day Competitions. Both of them designed their favourite book character on a wooden spoon. Adam made wooden spoon puppets about 'The 3 Little Pigs' and Dimitrios made a wooden spoon puppet of the Lion King.

Ms Sarah Said’s class explored and appreciated locally grown fruits by preparing a healthy fruit parfait using local produce. Through this hands-on activity, the children developed food preparation skills, learned healthy eating habits, and understood the benefits of buying local products. The day before the activity, the children researched which fruits are grown locally. The following day, they brought locally grown fruits, muesli, and a local brand of yoghurt. They began by washing the fruits, then peeling and cutting them into small pieces. Each child prepared their own parfait by layering muesli, yoghurt, and fruit in a jar, repeating the layers until the jar was full. The activity was an enjoyable and engaging that encouraged independence and teamwork while promoting healthy eating. Lastly, the learners gained a greater appreciation for local produce and learned about the advantages of buying locally grown foods, such as increased freshness, supporting local farmers, and reducing environmental impact.
