They may look similar, but they tell two different stories.

I meant to do something means it was your intention to do it, but you probably didn’t.

- I meant to reply to your message, but I forgot.

I was meant to do something means you were expected or supposed to do it.

- I was meant to meet my classmates at 9.

One talks about your intention. The other talks about an expectation or arrangement. 🤓

Instead of saying:

This is wrong.

Try:

✅ I don’t think that’s quite right.
✅ I’m not entirely convinced.
✅ It seems unlikely.
✅ As far as I know, that’s not the case.

These expressions let you disagree or give an opinion without sounding too direct. 🤓
