Learning to read the Time on an analogue clock or watch can be difficult for a picture thinker because:
⌚️Analogue clocks have different parts, including the numbers, hands, and face, which can be confusing to understand and remember.

⌚️They may have difficulty with sequencing information, which is required to understand the relationship between the hour and minute hands.

⌚️They may have difficulty focusing on details, making it harder to read the smaller numbers and markings on the clock.

During a Davis® programme, these difficulties are addressed by allowing the picture thinker to:
✅ use a variety of tools and materials to create their own clock
✅ understand what each part of the clock represents and means
✅ give meaning to the value of a second/ minute/ hour by experiencing it for themselves.

DAVIS AUTISM APPROACH PROGRAMME

Dear all, I have vacancies available for two autistic clients to attend a Davis Autism Programme.

This programme will provide the autistic individual with the necessary tools to be able to participate fully in a life they choose.

By exploring a set of concepts, the individual will be aided to develop or further develop:
👤 their sense of self,
👥 their identity
🫂 their knowledge of how to integrate with others in a social setting

The programme is:
👉 one to one
👉 the support person is shown how to use all the tools so that they will continue providing support after the sessions
👉 experience based (sessions are done indoors and outdoors)
👉 suitable for children over 8 years, teens and adults

I like this! Self care is so important especially for those students starting school this month!
School can be overwhelming for some students, making them feel anxious and worried...so doing something each day that makes them focus on themselves and their good talents is soo important ❤
