β€οΈβ¨ Today, the Sacred Heart College family came together to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the very heart of our school community.
Our students gathered in the chapel to celebrate Mass, giving thanks for the love, compassion and hope that the Sacred Heart inspires in us each day. πβ€οΈ
As part of the celebrations, the children also enjoyed a special ice-cream treat, adding a little extra joy to this special occasion. π¦π
As St Madeleine Sophie Barat reminded us:
"Let us draw all our strength from the Heart of Jesus."
May we continue to be guided by His love and strive to share that love with all those we meet. β€οΈ
Happy Feast to all!

πβ¨ Our Year 1 learners had a fantastic hands-on learning experience!
After visiting the fruit and vegetable truck and using real coins to buy fresh oranges from Shaun π°π, the children returned to class to squeeze their own orange juice. πΉ
Along the way, they explored counting, weight and measurement, learned about whole and half oranges β, and discovered why oranges are a great source of Vitamin C. πͺ𧑠To finish, they responsibly placed the orange peels in the organic bin. β»οΈπ±
Learning has never tasted so good! ππ

π§ββοΈπ₯ Healthy Habits, Happy Minds! π₯π§ββοΈ
Our Year 3 learners recently enjoyed a fun-filled day focused on health and well-being.
Through a yoga session, the children experienced the benefits of exercise for a healthy body and discovered techniques to help keep their minds calm, focused, and relaxed. π§β¨
The healthy fun continued in the kitchen, where the students prepared their own nutritious wraps. By selecting a variety of healthy fillings, they learned how to make balanced snack choices while exploring the importance of a healthy diet. π―π
π₯ As they folded their wraps into quarters, they reinforced their understanding of halves and quarters in Mathematics, while linking their choices of ingredients to their Science topic on a balanced diet.
The children also explored simple outdoor games that they can enjoy during their free time. These activities encouraged them to step away from digital devices and embrace active play, while developing important social skills through interaction, teamwork, and friendship. β½π€π
Through these engaging experiences, our learners discovered that a healthy lifestyle is built on three important pillars: regular exercise, good nutrition, and positive relationships with others. After all, a healthy person needs a healthy body, a healthy mind, and good company! π
A fantastic example of learning that is hands-on, meaningful, and fun!

As part of the Emergent Curriculum and the ongoing exploration of Mathematics, the Year engaged in a fun and hands on outdoor learning experience!
The children were encouraged to create their own addition and subtraction sums whilst using natural materials such as sticks, twigs, and rocks. Through this interactive activity, they explored mathematical concepts in a meaningful and creative way while developing problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a deeper connection with nature.

πβ¨ Year 3's Final Outing of the Scholastic Year! β¨π
As the school year draws to a close, our Year 3 learners enjoyed their final outing with a special visit to Masquerade for the workshop "All That Disney."
The workshop gave the children the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magical world of Disney through drama, music, movement, and creative activities. It was also a wonderful chance to relive the fairy tale that accompanied us throughout this scholastic year β The Little Mermaid. π§ββοΈπ
Our learners enthusiastically participated in the activities, bringing characters and stories to life while celebrating the imagination, creativity, and joy that Disney stories inspire.
