This was the school premises until 1969. After that St. Louis moved to Sliema Primary School temporarily, then to Ta’Giorni, with an annexe for forms 1 and 2 at St. Julians Primary School.
Practically invisible to people passing by in Manwel Dimech Street, this derelict villa is best known to the older generation. Many where those, in fact, who used to enjoy flocking to this site. Because did you know that this villa was once an open-air cinema, the only one of its kind in Malta back in the day?
The villa also served as a school until 1969 and became an educational institute again as part of the St. Louis School.
ABOUT
By Adrian Gatt on The Times Of Malta.
Villa Bonnici is situated two-thirds of the way up from the Ferries towards the Sliema police station along Manwel Dimech Street in Sliema. The gardens of this grand old villa stretch all the way down, almost to the Sliema Strand (behind where the Forestals showroom used to be), and span from Parisio Street on one side to St. Agatha Street on the other.
