This week, we marked International Museum Day at Ghajn with a visit from students of St Thomas More College Dun Ġużepp Żerafa Fgura Primary A 💧
During the visit, students learned that the Għajn Centre forms part of the Global Network of Water Museums Unesco-IHP . They also coloured specially prepared posters and wrote their own water-saving messages as part of the day’s activities.
This activity follows the World Water Day exhibition held at Għajn earlier this March, during which 6 artworks were selected from around 60 submissions and entered into “The Water We Want” international competition organised by WAMU-NET.
These activities continue to raise awareness about the importance of water sustainability through art and interactive learning.

The Energy and Water Agency hosted the LANDS Malta Local Forum at the Għajn Centre in Rabat, as part of the Erasmus+ KA220-VET project LANDS – Leveraging Actions with Nature for Development and Sustainability. 🌱
The forum brought together stakeholders from policy, education, local councils, environmental authorities, and related sectors to discuss urban resilience, climate adaptation, and sustainable development. 👥
Participants explored the concept of Nature-based Solutions (NbS), together with participatory tools and methodologies that support more resilient and sustainable urban environments. Interactive discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration, community engagement, environmental education, and strengthening local capacity to support the implementation of NbS in Malta.

Recently, the Energy and Water Agency delivered the LocAll4Flood mobile exhibition to Ghajn and Regjun Tramuntana.
The exhibition is part of a wider set of educational resources developed within the Interreg Euro-MED Programme LocAll4Flood project to raise awareness about flash flood risks and promote safer behaviours. ⚠️
Alongside the exhibition, a range of materials, including magnets, leaflets, puzzles, posters, and road sign infographics, will support awareness-raising activities. These tools are designed to provide clear, practical guidance, improve understanding of meteorological alerts, and engage people of all ages through interactive learning. 🧩
In the coming weeks, these materials will be utilised in pilot activities and local initiatives with residents and school students, thereby strengthening their knowledge, preparedness, and community resilience to flood risks.
Step by step, we are bringing flood risk awareness closer to local communities. 👥
