Over the past 24 hours, I have been truly humbled by the outpouring of positivity and encouragement, through private messages, emails, and phone calls. The support and kind words have been overwhelming in the best possible way. If I had to capture the essence of what has been shared with me, the two images below say it all. As the saying goes, pictures speak louder than words, so I’ll let them do the talking. Thank you sincerely to everyone who reached out 🙏

A Heartfelt Farewell & Celebration of Leadership
As we come to the close of a remarkable chapter for the Head of College Network at St Ignatius College – Learning & Growing Together, to be the best we can, deepest gratitude is extended to the Council of Heads team, the formidable psychosocial and curriculum team for embracing the vision, and mission that guided us to elevate St Ignatius College to new heights. The dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence was second to none.
We were continuing this drive by working tirelessly on our upcoming projects to inaugurate the 1st Atelier for the Early Years in a compulsory setting in Malta, and the 2nd Global Citizenship Education Training and Learning Hub across the network of primary schools within St Ignatius College. Further work aligning with AI and SAFE programmes at work were under discussion.
Despite the stop 🛑 button being pressed, our morals, integrity and the respect, to those involved and the beneficiaries, guide us to see through the first two projects mentioned.
Yet, other matters that were in the early stages have to be halted and for this, sincere apologies to our collaborators but the path ahead wasn't within our control and unexpectedly stopped.
Meanwhile, the highlights of our legacy are worth sharing.
🎓 Celebrating Milestones & Successes:
✨ Our college was honoured with the School of Excellence Award by RASIT, a prestigious recognition that reflects our collective efforts and the exceptional culture of learning we’ve built together.
💡 We launched The Positivity Toolkit — an innovative initiative rooted in well-being, resilience, and positive mindset development for all students across the college community.
🏆 Our Primary Department was awarded the European Innovative Teaching Award 2024 for outstanding work in capacity building and STEAM skills development — a testament to the creativity and collaboration within our schools.
🌐 We unveiled a forward-looking Digital Literacy Action Plan, empowering students with crucial 21st-century digital skills and aligning our efforts with national and European education frameworks.
📊 Behind the scenes, our College Support Teams delivered impactful programs in literacy, assessment, student support, counselling, and career guidance — strengthening the foundation of student success across all levels.
📚 Throughout this journey, we have grown not only in achievements but as a community — educators, students, parents, and partners united in purpose and passion.
Additionally, we worked on :
- A College Mental Health Policy.
- A Positive Approach to behaviour policy.
- Creating the 4Cs booklet.
- Setting up the Wellbeing, STEAM and Assessment Committees.
- Several opportunities for our staff and students through Erasmus+ with the support of EUPA Malta - Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps and fondi.eu
- Publishing a book about the Students' voices on Wellbeing at school.
- 3 symposium proceedings that offered the space and voice to our educators and students to share their research.
...and many more.
These are a testament of our proactive approach ahead of even national initiatives that we were already foreseeing.
Thank you to all who worked with the HCN for steering with us with integrity, courage, and vision. It is hoped that the legacy of “learning and growing together” will continue to inspire and shape the hearts and minds of those who walk through St Ignatius College long after today.
With gratitude
Former Head of College Network.

Erasmus+ mobility experiences within St. Ignatius College - Learning & Growing Together - to be the best we can.
Further mobilities, including courses, training programmes, and job-shadowing opportunities, are currently underway. These enriching experiences give our educators and leaders the valuable time and space to pause, reflect on their practice, and re-energise—returning with renewed passion, dedication, and commitment.
These opportunities are coordinated and led by the Head of College Network in close collaboration with the schools within the college.
This invaluable professional development is made possible through fondi.eu and EUPA Malta - Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps

On behalf of the school and college's community, we welcome her to the school and Council of Heads.

It's a wrap for the 2026 College Sports Festival. Yesterday, the Year 6 was the last group touching the Sports Cottonera Complex grounds for a morning of physical activity reinforcing the measure to increase the physical activity amongst our students.
In a visit at one of the schools, later in the day, the Head of College Network met the students to listen to their voices about the fun they had.
Once again, huge thanks to the PE Department within the primary and the respective schools leadership teams for their cooperation in making this another successful experience for our students.

This ceremony specifically recognises and honours the efforts of organisations that have invested in the well-being of their employees by engaging with the programme’s preventive training on addictions, self-care, healthy workplace culture, and related topics. Pause for reflection.
Following today's extraordinary circumstances, St Ignatius College would like to show its most appreciation and gratitude to all the workers who braved the weather and reported physically at work especially our community of educators and leaders. We are truly proud of everyone who raised to the occasion. Meanwhile, stay safe and take care of yourself and your loved ones.
Truly grateful.

Monday 19.01.2026 - Year 4 students' turn in the College Sports Festival for the primary schools.
Providing more opportunities to our students to stay active, healthy and to feel well. The students' faces say it all.
Once again, our thanks go to the HOD (PE-Primary) and the team of PE teachers and the respective schools for their continuous support and collaboration. The greatest reward is in seeing our students enjoying themselves and be happy.

In continuing the sharing of our Erasmus+ mobility experience where philosophy for children sees no age limit, today, we observed sessions with 4 to 5 year olds. The young ones focused on one one of the beatitudes of the late Pope Francis, that of help. The school principal conducted the session by sharing with the students a story about issues related to help for then to let them discuss ways in which they helped others. Eventually, they shared with the group and commented on whether they should help regardless of whether one requests or not.
We concluded the 30-hour mobility by the distribution of the certificates and sharing our gratitude and appreciation to how well we were received by this school. It has indeed been our honour to be the first visitors from overseas in this school which are doing an outstanding job in a highly difficult area of low socioeconomic background and a degree of other undesirable activity.
