On Thursday 18th June 2026, our school welcomed Chanelle Farrugia, a student from St Joseph Sliema School, who shared her journey in writing and illustrating a book called ‘Ix-Xmara Maġika fil-Kamra tas-Sodda’ and what an enriching experience it was. Together with her Learning Support Educator, Ms Elina, she explained how she came up with the idea of writing the book, and the process it involved, from drafting the story and illustrating the sketches, to the final product. Chanelle and Ms Elina insisted that the message behind this work was to show that everyone is unique and special, and can reach his/her potential. Chanelle signed each copy of the books which were bought by our students. She also presented a copy to the Library teacher, Ms Mary Grace Grech.

Thank you, Chanelle, for your visit, and we wish you best of luck in your future endeavours.

Foundress Day and Senior 2 Farewell Mass

On Tuesday 16th June 2026, the school celebrated Foundress Day and the Senior 2 farewell. Holy Mass was held in the school yard by the school’s chaplain, Fr Leonard Mintoff. Mariana Busuttil Risiott and Emma Buttigieg, of Grade 5, helped out during mass. Kelly Scerri and Kayleigh Zahra Cutajar, of Senior 2, played the flute and violin respectively, under the direction of Ms Mary Grace Grech, the Music teacher. The life of our school foundress, St Emilie de Vialar, was celebrated and presented during mass. At the beginning of the celebration, students read quotes by St Emilie and a banner with each quote was put up in the school yard. During the homily, Sr Lina participated in an interview where she shared information about the life and legacy of our foundress. The celebration was coordinated by the Pastoral Care Team.

The event also marked the farewell of the Senior 2 students. The girls passed on a message to all the staff who taught them during their nine years of schooling at St. Joseph Mater Boni Consilii School. Dr Kenneth Vella, on behalf of the school, presented gifts to each student. Parents and relatives of Senior 2 students also attended the activity.

This year, the award to the most outstanding student given by the CIRCLE international committee was presented to Danae Schembri Galea. Danae received the most nominations from the educators. During the nine years at St Joseph Mater Boni Consilii School, Danae always showed altruism and empathy towards others.

At the end of the celebration, Dr Kenneth Vella, Head of School, treated all the students and staff members with an ice-cream, as a treat to celebrate this special day.

The school wishes a happy feast to all the community. May the spirit of St Emilie continue to be present in our hearts and guide us in our lives.
