REFLECTION AND REVELATION
Theatre Studies Year 1 Festival
Date: 22 May
Time: 19:30
Venue: Valletta Campus Theatre
To book a place kindly send an email to [email protected].
Suggested donation at the door 5€.
The performances you will see explore the themes of reflection and revelation. While we move forward with our everyday lives, we also have the opportunity to look back at important moments and possibly rediscover something new to help us face the future. During these forty-five minutes, we will have the chance to understand how we look at love; see people coping with stress during an interrogation; learn about people who lived through a war; understand the ill effects of violence on women; and sense the fallout of former students digging up a time capsule.

STAFF PUBLICATIONS
Check out Frank Camilleri's latest article 'Stanislavsky from the Outside: Networking and Re-Working the Self', which has just been published in the latest issue of *Stanislavski Studies*, 14:1 (Routledge). The article presents an outsider’s perspective on aspects of Stanislavsky’s approach, specifically with reference to the fundamental notion of the actor’s work on the self. Starting off with a personal anecdote about a movement-based exercise, Stanislavsky’s work upon the self is identified as a key formative element that is then highlighted in the context of resonances between aesthetic and athletic processes.
UM students and staff can access the article via institutional access here: https://www-tandfonline-com.ejournals.um.edu.mt/doi/full/10.1080/20567790.2025.2594801 .
