🇬🇧 While lectures may be taking a break for the summer, activities at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malta, certainly haven’t slowed down!

Our Faculty’s technical staff have been busy delivering a five-week Summer Training Programme for first-year students, giving them the opportunity to build on their first-year studies through additional hands-on experience.

Throughout the programme, students experience a broad range of foundational engineering techniques, including welding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, printed circuit board (PCB) design and manufacturing, electrical installations, PLC programming, automotive systems, and piping.

The training is prepared and delivered by the Faculty’s dedicated technical staff, who patiently guide students as they learn, practise and develop competencies that will support both their studies and their future careers in industry.

A big thank you to all involved for their dedication and commitment to our students!

🇲🇹 Minkejja li l-lekċers jistgħu jkunu waqfu għas-sajf, l-attivitajiet fil-Fakultà tal-Inġinerija fl-Università ta’ Malta, bla dubju, li ma naqsu xejn!

L-istaff tekniku tal-Fakultà tagħna kienu impenjati bl-organizzazzjoni ta’ Programm ta’ Taħriġ tas-Sajf ta’ ħames ġimgħat għall-istudenti tal-ewwel sena. Dan qed jagħtihom l-opportunità li jibnu fuq l-istudji tagħhom tal-ewwel sena permezz ta’ aktar esperjenza prattika.

Matul dan il-programm, l-istudenti esperjenzaw firxa wiesgħa ta’ tekniki fundamentali tal-inġinerija. Dawn jinkludu l-iwweldjar, il-makinarju, il-fabbrikazzjoni tal-folji tal-metall, id-disinn u l-manifattura ta’ bord ta' ċirkwit stampat (PCB), l-installazzjonijiet elettriċi, il-programmjar tal-PLC, is-sistemi tal-vetturi, u xogħol fuq il-pajpijiet.

It-taħriġ huwa mħejji u pprovdut mill-istaff tekniku dedikat tal-Fakultà, li bil-paċenzja kollha jiggwida lill-istudenti filwaqt li jitgħallmu, jipprattikaw u jiżviluppaw kompetenzi li se jgħinuhom kemm fl-istudji tagħhom kif ukoll fil-karrieri futuri tagħhom fl-industrija.

Grazzi kbira lil kull min huwa involut għad-dedikazzjoni u l-impenn tagħhom lejn l-istudenti tagħna!

It is with deep sadness that the Faculty announces the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, MaryAnne Magro Conti.

MaryAnne dedicated over 30 years of service to the Faculty, leaving a lasting impact through her professionalism, kindness, and friendship. She will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with and knowing her, and her presence will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
May she rest in peace

🇲🇹 Mument speċjali matul l-Esebizzjoni tal-Fakultà tal-Inġinerija ta’ din is-sena kien l-inawgurazzjoni ta’ plakka kommemorattiva li tirrikonoxxi l-individwi kollha li servew, u għadhom iservu, bħala Dekan tal-Fakultà.

Il-plakka tonora t-tmexxija u d-dedikazzjoni tad-Dekani tal-passat u tal-preżent li għenu biex iffurmaw il-Fakultà matul is-snin u ikkontribwew għat-tkabbir u s-suċċess kontinwu tagħha.

The plaque honours the leadership and dedication of the past and present Deans who have helped shape the Faculty over the years and contributed to its continued growth and success.

A tribute to our past, a celebration of our present, and an inspiration for the future.

🇬🇧 Our annual Faculty of Engineering Exhibition was once again a great success, bringing together students, academic, technical and administrative staff, industry representatives, and visitors to celebrate the outstanding work of our final-year engineering students.

The exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the innovation, creativity, and technical excellence demonstrated through this year's final-year projects. It was inspiring to witness the enthusiasm of everyone who attended and the engaging discussions sparked by the impressive range of projects on display. We would also like to thank everyone who visited our Faculty over the weekend and took part in the tours and workshops!

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who contributed to making this event possible, from the PR committee, academic, technical, and administrative staff, and to our students, whose hard work was at the heart of the exhibition.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors for their generous support, which played an important role in the success of this year's event.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this year's Faculty of Engineering Exhibition such a memorable occasion. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
