🌞 ONE WEEK TO GO (sweats intensely) before we open the doors to this year’s DiGRA!
We’re excited, thrilled—and yes, a little nervous too!

As you get ready, here are a few helpful tips to make your arrival smoother:

🧴 Weather Update: Expect temperatures between 24°C to 33°C.
Pack your sunscreen, cap/hat or umbrella, and don’t forget your refillable water bottle to stay cool and hydrated throughout the conference!

🚌 Airport Transfers: The Malta International Airport has direct bus connections to many areas, including Valletta. Check out this timetable for details: https://www.publictransport.com.mt/routes-timetables-search-page/

You can pay with your contactless bank card on buses, or purchase tourist cards from kiosks at the airport for unlimited travel.

The National Library of Malta, founded in 1776, sits right in the heart of Valletta. It houses priceless manuscripts, including the personal archives of the Knights of St. John.

DiGRA Evening Event 🌙 Live Improv Performance ft. Yokai Creatures! 👹 👹
Join us for a free improv live performance for live instruments and gameplay!

"Night Parade of 100 Demons" is an improv-orented mobile game designed by Dr. Costantino Oliva (Institute of Digital Games - University of Malta). Featuring the popular Japanese yokai creatures, it consists of four engaging minigames, each designed to inspire extemporaneous musicality. The game is part of the official selection of BitSummit 2025, Japan's main indie game fest.

For this DiGRA event, Costantino Oliva will team up with experimental musician Timothy Garrett (Double Standard, Geistmachine, Krishna) for a live, fully improvised performance. Together, they blend live gameplay with musical instruments, exploring free, radical musical improvisation.

Places limited - first come first served basis.

In this event in Italian, co-organized by the Italian Institute of Culture, Prof. Stefano Gualeni (University of Malta) will engage in a dialogue with Prof. Marco Caracciolo (University of Ghent, Belgium) and Dr. Valentina Romanzi (University of Turin) in an event where science fiction narrative intertwines with questions of our time.

We are pleased to offer on-site childcare services at DiGRA this year through My Poppins and Co.

Childcare will be available for children aged 0–10 years. All providers are screened, trained, and certified in pediatric first aid, with a good command of English and experience delivering high-quality care.

We will close childcare registrations on 30 May 2025 (23:59 CET). The service will run subject to sufficient demand.
