Congratulations to Dr. Margaret Jean Westby, who has recently been promoted to Senior Lecturer. Since joining UM in 2022, Margaret has made significant contributions through her teaching in both theory and practice in critical dance studies, ballet and Horton techniques, choreography, technology and interdisciplinary performance, practice-as-research, and more. Her research and creative practice are organized around three strands: technologically augmented dance and AI/performance; decolonial histories of ballet and dance in the Caribbean; and somatic screendance.
