MHSA is happy to announce that we are collaborating with MMSA on a new initiative, Publications 101! This is a workshop organised by MMSA's SCOME (Standing Committee on Medical Education) Team, that aims to prepare students to publish in the Malta Medical Students' Journal (MMSJ).
Publishing research can be an overwhelming experience, and many students can feel unsure about how to go about it. This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn the fundamentals when it comes to publishing, which is essential to keep in mind during your writing!
The workshop will include a talk by Prof. Claude Bajada, a researcher who started off from graduating medicine and continued to do research in Neurophysiology. The SCOME Team will also be talking on publishing and the MMSJ, including the required guidelines for publishing. We will also have 2 medical students who have used the MMSJ as an opportunity to start researching and getting involved in publications.
This year, SCOME is collaborating with MHSA to increase and emphasise interprofessional collaboration between medical students and health science students. Everyone can attend and potentially publish in the MMSJ so invite your friends who are studying in a healthcare profession and are interested in research to learn how to publish!
