The final day of the Annual International Multidisciplinary Conference wrapped up with forward-thinking conversations revolving around education, diversity, enterprise, and wellbeing.
The day began with a Spotlight Expert session featuring Dr Ian Mifsud, Director General at the Secretariat for Catholic Education, in conversation with Mr Roderick Vassallo, offering key insights into leadership and transformation in education.
This was followed by two powerful panel discussions. The first explored how ๐๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ช๐ด๐ฆ & ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏ๐ค๐ช๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ช๐จ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ค๐ฆ can empower students for economic success, while the second tackled the complexities of ๐๐ช๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด๐ช๐ต๐บ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐จ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต ๐ช๐ฏ ๐๐ฅ๐ถ๐ค๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ฏ๐ด๐ต๐ช๐ต๐ถ๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ด, addressing social, cultural, and ethical challenges head-on.
In the afternoon, a diverse range of presentations took centre stage across parallel sessions. Topics included media literacy, sustainability, leadership in the age of AI, project-based learning, student wellbeing, and the evolving role of learning spaces and art in education.
As AIMC 2025 draws to a close, the Conference Committee would like to thank the keynote speakers, the spotlight expert, the chairpersons, the panellists, the moderators, the presenters, the participants and all the members of Junior College staff who were involved in the organisation of the conference and who contributed to having yet another successful event. Day 2 of the Annual International Multidisciplinary Conference continued to challenge perspectives and inspire dialogue around inclusion, assessment, and innovation in education.
The day opened with a compelling keynote by Dr Chelsea Whittaker from Trinity College Dublin, entitled "Inclusion that ignores language is incomplete", chaired by Dr Stephanie Xerri Agius. Her insights set the tone for a day focused on pushing boundaries in post-secondary education.
Two dynamic panel discussions followed. The first explored โThe Future of Assessments โ Going Beyond Examsโ, while the second delved into โCreativity & Innovation โ Unleashing Potential in Educationโ, featuring local and international thought leaders sharing diverse perspectives and real-world approaches.
The afternoon featured parallel sessions where researchers presented on a wide range of topics โ from inclusive education, AI in learning, and wellbeing among students, to innovations in teaching Mathematics, Classics, and Hospitality.

Weโve officially kicked off AIMC 2025 at the JC Connections Conference Facilities Plenary Hall with a warm welcome from Chairperson Mr Roderick Vassallo, followed by the opening speech from UM Pro-Rector for Research & Knowledge Transfer, Prof. Ing. Simon Fabri.
The evening continued with a powerful keynote by Prof. Kitrina Douglas, exploring โDemocratising pedagogy through autoethnography, collaboration and arts-based methodologiesโ, chaired by Dr Nadia Portelli.
The keynote was succeeded by a thought-provoking panel on "The Responsibility of Education in Dynamic Social Contexts", moderated by Dr Angele Deguara, featuring expert voices from Prof. Andrew Azzopardi, Dr Louise Chircop, and Dr Ian Mifsud.
The evening drew to a close with a networking reception where professionals met and had one-to-one conversations about their personal visions in further education.
