Two doctoral students from the , participated in the . Ms Bernice Azzopardi Meli delivered an oral presentation of her current work entitled ‘Core digital competencies for the health workforce: A systematic review’ which was very well received. Ms Maya Camilleri Sacco presented a poster with an overview of her research entitled ‘Understanding patient expectations from their medication for rheumatic conditions: A multiphase study in the Maltese context. Both Bernice and Maya are members of the within the Department conducting research under the primary supervision of Prof Maria Cordina. Very well done Bernice and Maya!

The Global Primary Care Respiratory Collaborative has announced its Global Evidence Translation Group, a diverse team of experts from multiple regions and sectors. The group will review implementation research, identify gaps and priorities, and support practical solutions to improve lung health in primary care.

The World Health Organization (WHO) convened the Global Forum of Collaborating Centres in Lyons, France—bringing together representatives from over 800 institutions designated as WHO Collaborating Centres (CCs) across more than 80 countries. @ Professor Maria Cordina, participated in this historic event as Head of WHO Collaborating Centre for Health Professionals Education and Research, which is the designation of the Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The meeting was also a central event of the World Health Day 2026 campaign under the theme “Together for health. Stand with science.”
A poster highlighting work conducted by the Department in support of WHO was presented. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for networking with other centres and meeting colleges.
It was a pleasure for Maria Cordina to meet Dr , WHO Director-General, catch up with and chat with Dr , WHO Regional Director for Europe and Dr , Director of Health Systems.
The Department, as a WHO Collaborating Centre, is unwavering in it support of WHO to protect lives and shape a healthier future for all.
