The Malta Pharmaceutical Students’ Association, MPSA was founded in 1966 and was later recognized by senate in 1985. It represents pharmaceutical students within the pharmacy department, which in turn forms part of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery within the University of Malta. MPSA serves as means of communication between pharmacy students together with the faculty as well as departmental and hospital authorities. MPSA does not only represent students locally on campus but also on national and international platforms. In doing so, MPSA is able to better foreign relationships amongst students worldwide. MPSA has also been involved in organising several conferences in the past. The association was responsible for the organisation of WorldMaPS 2005, the first ever World Medical and Pharmaceutical joint Symposium, along with MMSA for which around 250 delegates from various countries participated in the conference. MPSA is an active member of EPSA, the European Pharmacy Students Association, which works to bring pharmacy students from all over Europe together. MPSA has been a member of EPSA since 1987 and also a full member of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (IPSF) since 1967. Most recently MPSA has taken part in the 19th EPSA Autumn Assembly in Madrid, Spain (November 2023), 14th EPSA Annual Reception in Brussels, Belgium (March 2024), as well as the EPSA Annual Congress in Prague, Czechia (May 2024). Also, MPSA organises multilateral exchanges as part of EPSA's TWINNET project and hosted an exchange as part of this project in collaboration with the University of Rouen in February 2022.

‘MPSA strives to work and interact with as many students as possible. By motivating students to work together as part of the team, MPSA lives on.’
