On my first day volunteering at a school in Kenya, I was frustrated by the poor condition of the blackboards, which made it hard for the children to see and learn. I shared my anger with a teacher, and we realized we both felt the same way. Together as a team, we decided to speak to Right 2 Smile. They responded quickly, and agreed in the funding of the whiteboards. The boys made sure the new boards were hung and ready to use. What seemed like an impossible dream for these children—a proper learning environment—became a reality. ❤️
The start of the school year usually brings excitement. At university, I was taught that a beautifully decorated classroom was key to helping children learn, and I always believed it. This year, even though I decorated the classroom as usual, my emotions were different.
My experience in Kenya, in those empty classrooms yet full of smiles and eager children, made me realize that learning isn’t about fancy decorations, tablets, or interactive whiteboards. What children truly need is inspiration, confidence, and the belief that they can achieve anything.
Dear children,
today tomorrow and always...
"Dream Big ALWAYS." 🌟
