MCAST students in Mosta have escalated their protest actions by blocking Triq id-Difiża Ċivili, one of the main roads near Lidl and Pama. The sit-down demonstration caused significant traffic disruption as students, equipped with picnic setups, voiced their frustration over the ongoing dispute between the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) and the government, which has left both students and lecturers in limbo. The protesters, gathered outside the MCAST Mosta campus, demanded better education standards and degree recognition equal to university qualifications. Students criticised the issuance of administrative passes, claiming it undermines the value of their degrees. This latest action follows earlier protests calling for urgent negotiations to resolve the impasse and ensure the academic year proceeds without further disruption. Students continue to advocate for the integrity of their education as the directives remain unresolved.
