We are delighted to share that Kalkara Primary School has placed 2nd in Malta’s Top 10 schools contributing the most used batteries per capita for June 2026! 🥈👏

This is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of our school community’s commitment to recycling, sustainability and caring for our environment. 🌍♻️

A huge well done to our pupils, families and staff for making this possible! Every battery collected makes a difference. 🔋🌱

We are also proud to be supporting Hospice Malta through this initiative. 💚

We encourage parents/guardians to encourage their children to read during the summer months. 📣

Below are a set of guidelines for parents to promote reading:
😍
• Stress the importance of reading with your child.
• Make reading exciting; do not portray it as a chore.
• Follow a reading list of recommended age-appropriate books.

• Limit children’s screen time (TV, tablet, smartphone) and encourage fun educational activities instead.
🥳
• Let your child choose her/his own books.
• Keep a supply of reading materials around the house.
• Ask your child questions about the books s/he is reading.

• Establish a timeslot during the day for storytelling.
• Listen to your child read to you.
• Show interest in your child’s favourite authors or series of books.

• Listen to books on a tablet or smartphone especially while travelling.
• Model reading for your child.

Hekk kif qed nagħlqu sena skolastika oħra, nixtiequ nesprimu l-apprezzament u r-ringrazzjament tagħna lill-membri kollha tal-Kunsill tal-Iskola għall-impenn, l-appoġġ u d-dedikazzjoni tagħhom lejn il-komunità skolastika tagħna.

Permezz tal-ħin, l-ideat u l-kollaborazzjoni tagħhom, huma taw kontribut siewi biex tissaħħaħ ir-rabta bejn id-dar u l-iskola.

Nirringrazzjaw il-President tal-Kunsill tal-Iskola, is-Sa Marija Sultana, għall-ħidma u l-impenn kontinwu tagħha.
