Belonging. Being. Becoming
At Iz-Zugraga, your child is at the heart of everything we do. We want to instil a love for learning to serve as a good foundation for the years ahead. Each child's unique needs are recognized and potentials nurtured. There is nothing more rewarding than allowing children to experience different learning opportunities that build success for life.
Our programme recognizes that early childhood is a vital period for children's learning and development where 'belonging, being and becoming' are the three main pillars of the foundation for such programme.
'Belonging' is all about children's relationships with the family and community around them. The child belongs first to a family, a cultural group, a neighbourhood and the community at large. This sense of belonging instils the basis of the child's sense of identity and ego. Our child carers are focus on recognizing and integrating the uniqueness of each community in the daily activities that take place with the children. This cannot be met, if not worked for hand in hand with the children's families to ascertain that the needs are fully met.
'Being' simply means allowing children to be children. It is about the present, recognizing and learning about the self, experiences and daily life challenges. From an early age, play is important to a child's development and learning. It isn't just physical. It can involve cognitive, imaginative, creative, emotional and social aspects. It is the main way most children express their impulse to explore, experiment and understand. In practice, this means that we help children explore the world around them, take safe risks and make mistakes in order to learn valuable lessons.
