Today marks a truly historic milestone in the life of St Edward’s College, as the Prime Minister and the Minister for Culture, lands and Local Councils visited our campus for the official signing of the renewed College lease — securing our home for the next 65 years.
This moment represents far more than a legal agreement. It is a celebration of the College’s legacy, its stability, and its unwavering commitment to future generations of Edwardians. The renewal ensures that the traditions, values, and educational excellence that have defined St Edward’s for nearly a century will continue to flourish well into the next decades.
Students also played a part in the occasion, gathering to witness this rare and meaningful moment in the College’s history. Their presence highlighted what this agreement is ultimately about: safeguarding a place of learning, growth, and community for all who walk through our gates.
As we look ahead, tomorrow’s ceremony stands as a proud reminder that St Edward’s remains firmly rooted — and confidently facing the future.

Mr Jeremy de Maria is the Staff member of the month at St Edward's College. One could say that the college is in nis DNA given that he is an OE and his parents had close ties to the college. It will therefore not be a surprise that one describes Mr de Maria as a true gentleman, a man of honour who does not lose himself in a plethora of words but makes his deeds count. Always ready to lend a hand and step in at a moment's notice, Mr de Maria is compassionate and kind, jovial but strict, literary and sporty. From all his colleagues, Well Done, Mr de Maria!

Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of one of our own. Mr Ayrton Senna Spiteri was a dedicated and much loved member of the College community, cherished by students, staff and parents alike. He joined the College at just 19 years of age and was always most loyal. He will be deeply missed and always remembered. Please keep him, his family and his colleagues in your prayers. Funeral details will be shared once available.
