🌍🌱 Caring for Creation begins with a moment to pause, reflect and respond.

As we begin the Season of Creation🌿🌍, from 1 September (World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation) to 4 October (Feast of St Francis of Assisi), we invite schools to take time to pray, reflect, and act for the care of our common home. 🙏💚

We have put together a collection of resources to support schools, including prayer activities on Creation, a Holy Mass for the Care of Our Common Home, a liturgical guide, prayers and online resources.

These can inspire students to reflect on their relationship with creation and encourage practical ways to care for our common home. 🌱

📺TVM interview Ftit Xemx Kuljum

Fr Reuben Gauci and Silvana Cardona shared about the work in Spiritual Development in Schools and the journey of Prayer Spaces in Schools.

We spoke about how Prayer Spaces invite students to pause, reflect and pray in an interactive and meaningful way, creating a space to meet their interiority, listen to what is within, and bring their own lives into the present moment.

We also shared our books of reflective stories that lead to prayer activities, offering meaningful experiences for students from the early years through primary and secondary school.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates that, at the end of her earthly life, Mary was taken body and soul into heavenly glory.

Her faith, humility, trust and courage can inspire educators to help students recognise their dignity, nurture hope, and journey towards the fullness of life.

Prayer, creativity and joyful moments across Malta and Gozo! 🇲🇹

Over the past few weeks, the SDS team, together with our dedicated volunteers, has been travelling across Malta and Gozo, animating creative and meaningful prayer activities for children attending Skolasajf. 🙏✨

Through stories, reflection, prayer, creativity and moments of stillness, children were invited to pause, wonder, express themselves and discover that they can always make space in their hearts for God. 💛

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer and member of the SDS team who gave their time, energy and creativity to make these experiences possible. Your commitment is helping create little moments of faith, hope and joy in the lives of so many children. 🌱

Together, we continue to create spaces where children can wonder, pray, reflect and grow. 🙏💫

🙏 What happens when a Prayer Spaces team comes together?

It starts with prayer… grows through reflection… and leads to action. ✨

Our Prayer Spaces team gathered to place our schools, children and young people, our work and one another in God’s hands. We paused, listened, shared ideas and discussed together how we can continue creating spaces where children and young people can pause, wonder, pray, reflect and encounter God. 💛

🌱 Prayer. Reflection. Ideas. Action.
Because meaningful Prayer Spaces don’t just happen; they grow when people come together with a shared vision and an open heart.

Today, as the Church celebrates the feast of St Lawrence, deacon and martyr, we remember a man who served Christ by serving His people, especially the poor and those in need. How can St Lawrence inspire us in our vocation as educators? 🔥🙏

St Lawrence understood that the treasures of the Church were not material possessions, but the people entrusted to his care. His life was marked by service, generosity, and courageous faith, even when that faith came at great cost.

As educators, we too are entrusted with a precious treasure: the children and young people placed in our care. St Lawrence invites us to see beyond achievements and results, and to recognise the dignity, gifts and potential of every student.

May his witness inspire us to serve with humility, give generously, stand courageously for what is right, and see Christ in those entrusted to us.

🙏 St Lawrence, pray for us and for all educators, that our classrooms may become places where every young person feels welcomed, valued and loved and serves others with humility.

St Dominic loved learning, dedicated himself to preaching the Gospel, listened to the needs of others, lived a life of prayer and brought people together.
How can his example inspire educators in our classrooms today? 📚🙏✨

St Dominic reminds us that being an educator is about more than teaching facts. Like him, we can encourage a love of learning, search for truth, listen with compassion, create a sense of community and help others discover their God-given gifts.

His life also reminds us of the power of prayer, perseverance and sharing what we have learned with others. Every day, educators have the opportunity to plant seeds of faith, hope and kindness in the hearts of their students. 🌱❤️

How can we follow the example of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne by nurturing the hearts and lives of the children entrusted to us?

🌿 Saint Joachim and Saint Anne remind us that faith grows within loving families and caring communities. Through their patience, trust in God, and dedication to Mary, they show us the importance of nurturing hearts with love, prayer, and good values. 💙

May we follow their example by creating spaces where children feel loved, guided, and encouraged to grow closer to God. ✨
