SMC Secondary Verdala Ours is a Secondary School and forms part of St Margaret College (SMC), Malta. The school's main blocks are built round a central school yard. Zammit and Mr J.

The school owes much of its physical character to its being built on the site of Fort Verdala, on the top of Margherita Hills, limits of Cospicua. As recently renovated, the school, first opened its doors to students in the scholastic year 2008/2009. These blocks house the requirements of today's educational system: including our library, Science Labs, Home Economics and Hospitality Labs, ICT and

Computer Labs, specialised subject rooms for all other subjects and a Learning Zone within easy access to all. The school also has its own hall (housed in a building that dates from colonial dates as evinced by its typical British Colonial architecture), a large sports ground, a praying room and also its own camping site. The school also offers students a wide range of extra curricular activities to choose from. The present College principal is Ms D. Ellul is the present Head of School. School hours are 7:55 to 2:16 Winter Time and 8:00 to 12:00 in June

✅ E-scooters must be registered with Transport Malta and insured
✅ Maximum permitted speed: 20 km/h
❌ E-scooters may not be driven on arterial roads or through tunnels

Over the summer recess 1️⃣4️⃣ of our from different subjects have attended training courses around focusing on education and Project Based Learning at schools. This was only possible thanks to the school's KA120 accreditation project focusing on the above themes. This helps our school in its mission to offer higher quality education to our students.

CPR saves lives. AEDs save lives too. But they need to be there when we need them.

The Malta Resuscitation Council is calling for publicly accessible AEDs across Malta to be registered, maintained and available 24/7.

An AED can make a critical difference in the minutes before an ambulance arrives — but only if people know where it is and can access it when needed.

St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala Science students learn about the production of Honey in Malta and its health benefits

On Friday, 29th May 2026, a group of Form 3 Core Curriculum Programme (CCP) Science students at St. Margaret College Secondary School Verdala, Cospicua participated in a project about the production of Honey in Malta and its health benefits. This project was related to their Science study unit about Flowering plants and coordinated by the Senior Science teacher Martin Azzopardi.

Matul iż-żjara, huma osservaw diversi speċi ta’ ħut u ħlejjaq tal-baħar, filwaqt li tgħallmu fatti interessanti dwar il-ħajja marina u kif għandna nieħdu ħsieb l-ambjent marittimu.

L-istudenti ħadu sehem f’attivitajiet interattivi u esperjenzi hands-on li għenuhom jitgħallmu b’mod aktar prattiku u divertenti. Din iż-żjara kienet opportunità sabiħa biex jiżviluppaw il-kurżità tagħhom, it-tagħlim permezz tal-esperjenza u l-ħiliet soċjali waqt li gawdew ħin flimkien barra mill-klassi.
