The first government primary school in Birkirkara was opened in June 1842. This school, which was one of the dwellings of Cavalier Ċensu Borg (Brared) was not large enough to cater for the number of children as there was an increasing demand for children to attend school. An extensive piece of land was chosen and in 1926 our present school, as it still stands today, was built. The school, 350 feet long and 215 feet wide was built on two storeys and was nearly finished by 1930. This same school served as a hospital during the Second World War. Another storey was built later and over the years it was refurbished to accommodate the changing needs and reflect further educational practices. However, up to the present date, it still retains its identity at the very heart of Birkirkara.

💛✨ Gratitude in Action at Our Year 6 Sleepover! ✨💛

During our Year 6 sleepover activity, our students took some time to reflect on what they're truly grateful for. 🌟

One of the stations focused on Kindness and Gratitude 💕, where each child wrote something meaningful on a small, colourful heart. These hearts were then used to fill our Gratitude Jar 🫙💖, a beautiful reminder of how much our students appreciate the people and blessings in their lives.

As a follow-up, the children got creative and made thank-you keychains 🔑🎨, which they proudly gave to members of staff, including our SLT, class teachers and LSEs. 🙌👩‍🏫

It was such a lovely way for our students to express appreciation, spread kindness, and remind us all that even the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. 🌈💫

B'Kara Primary School would like to formally share some excellent news regarding one of our students. 🎉 Praavya Vats, from Year 6.2, has successfully qualified in 2nd place out of the Top 10 finalists in Category 5. 🥈 We are highly proud of her performance!
