Did you know that the first five years of a child's life are the most important for brain development?
During these early years, children develop the social, emotional, communication, and cognitive skills that will support them throughout their lives. This is why high-quality early years education and care is so important.
At The Childhood Hub, we are passionate about supporting childcare centres across Malta and Gozo through professional training, guidance, and development opportunities that help educators provide the very best start for every child.
Because investing in early years isn't just about today, it's about shaping the future.

Thank you doremichildcarecentre
for choosing The Childhood Hub to deliver training on the Emergent Curriculum Approach.
During these session, educators explored how to recognise children's interests, curiosity, and ideas, and how these can be used to create meaningful learning experiences. The training focused on moving beyond pre-planned activities and towards a child-centered approach where children become active participants in their own learning journey.
Together, we explored:✨ What the emergent curriculum approach is✨ The role of observation in planning✨ Following children's interests and ideas✨ Creating responsive learning environments✨ Supporting curiosity, creativity, and exploration✨ Practical strategies that can be implemented immediately within the classroom
At The Childhood Hub, our support goes beyond training. We work alongside childcare centres to help improve practice every day through professional development, mentoring, consultancy, quality improvement support, leadership guidance, audits, and practical strategies that create positive outcomes for children, families, and educators.
Our goal is simple: to help childcare centres build confident teams, high quality learning environments, and meaningful experiences for every child.
Thank you once again to the wonderful team at Doremi. We look forward to continuing to support your journey towards excellence in early years education.

Bright Stars Childcare training part 2 Understanding brain development & seeing how this relates to children’s play & giving educators foundations to build their planning learning opportunities for children
Understanding brain development is essential for anyone working with young children because the early years are when the brain develops most rapidly. Every interaction, experience, and play opportunity helps shape neural connections that form the foundation for future learning, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and relationships.
This training helps educators understand how children learn through play and why play is not simply a leisure activity, but a vital tool for cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. By gaining insight into how the brain develops, educators can better recognise children’s needs, interests, and developmental stages, allowing them to create meaningful learning experiences that support holistic growth.

The strongest childcare centres are built on strong teams.
Investing in training isn't just about meeting requirements, it's about creating confident educators, improving staff retention, and building a workplace where professionals feel valued, supported, and motivated to grow.
At The Childhood Hub, we work with childcare centres across Malta and Gozo to provide practical, relevant training that strengthens professional skills, enhances teamwork, and helps centres deliver the highest standards of care. When educators are given the opportunity to develop, they are more likely to remain engaged, committed, and passionate about the important work they do.
The result? Happier teams, stronger centres, and better outcomes for children.
Because every child deserves the very best start, and that begins with investing in the people who care for them every day.

On-the-job training, where practice actually changes. Ema, our Occupational Therapist , was supporting educators directly in the childcare environment.
This is another key part of our consultancy work at TCH: not just advising from the outside, but modelling, observing, guiding and coaching staff in real time.
Through OT-informed practice, we help teams better understand children’s movement, sensory needs, regulation, positioning, play, independence and daily routines.
Real professional development happens when training meets practice.
That is where the real shift happens.

🌱 Growing Leaders Behind the Scenes
As childcare organisations expand, strong leadership becomes just as important as strong pedagogy.
A key part of our consultancy work is providing intensive support, mentoring, and advisory services to new and aspiring managers. From navigating compliance and operational responsibilities to leading teams with confidence, we work alongside leaders to build the skills needed to manage sustainable, high-quality services.
Leadership is not something people simply step into. It is something that must be nurtured, challenged, and developed over time.
Investing in leadership today creates stronger teams, better outcomes for children, and more resilient organisations tomorrow.
