🏆🇲🇹 Congratulations to Edwardian Luigi Gatt! 🇲🇹🏆

Our very own Luigi Gatt has just returned from Croatia, where he represented Malta at the U16 Water Polo World Championships.

As the team's starting goalkeeper, Luigi played in every match throughout the tournament, helping Malta achieve an incredible 11th-place finish. This is the best-ever result achieved by a Maltese aquatics team at a World Championship and a remarkable milestone for Maltese sport.

Adding to this achievement, Luigi was named Player of the Match in two consecutive games. This award is most often given to an outfield player, making it especially rare and meaningful for a goalkeeper to receive the honour.

We are immensely proud of Luigi and his teammates for their dedication, talent and sporting excellence on the world stage.

Luigi is also a proud Edwardian who recently completed all of his O Levels successfully and will continue his educational journey at St Edward's College as an IB student.

Today, we celebrate not only an outstanding young athlete, but also a student whose commitment and achievement shine both in the pool and in the classroom.
