MVPA Alumni Den Ilson Zammit ✨
Standing backstage in Malta and handing my portrait to Katy Perry after her Isle of MTV performance was a surreal, full-circle moment. It felt as though the 10-year-old version of me had finally seen a lifelong dream come to life.
Watching her sign my artwork and hearing her say, “You’re amazing” followed by “Keep going,” was a moment of validation for every hour I have dedicated to my craft.
This unforgettable milestone didn’t happen by chance. It was the result of years of hard work, determination, and perseverance, with its foundations built during my time at the Malta Visual and Performing Arts School (MVPA) from 2018 to 2023.
MVPA gave me more than technical skills. It nurtured my creativity, challenged me to grow, and instilled the discipline and resilience that continue to shape me as an artist today. It was there that I learned to transform childhood inspiration into artistic purpose and gained the confidence to share my work with the world.
Meeting my idol reminded me that dreams are achieved one step at a time. More importantly, it proved that every challenge, every sacrifice, and every moment of self-belief along this journey has been worth it.
