FM DX Radio Dimensione Suono (RDS) Agrigento 102.0 MHz From Malta. It was caught on 28/09/2024 at around 12:50 PM (UTC+2). The place of catch is around Mellieha. Medium level tropo which this one successfully managed to overcome Radio Radicale which sometimes may be considered as a semi local. The TEF6686 did quite well as it reached RDS levels by displaying ‘* RDS *’ with its PI Code ‘5264’. This time, it was caught in Malta, two years after it was caught in Gozo, which this became a possibility. It is broadcasting from Sicily’s Agrigento FM Transmitter of around 1 kW in power which is approximately 165 kilometres away towards Agrigento. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Al Mhjob Misrata 98.7 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 31/07/2022 at around 01:20 AM (UTC+2). The place of catch is around Wied Iz-Zurrieq which medium level tropo was observed towards parts of Libya and southern Tunisia. Temperature reached almost 28 Degrees Celsius during that time. The station did not carry any RDS data during that time. It did not shadow semi local Rai Radio 2 due to the zone already shadowing Sicilian signals. It used to be broadcasting from Libya’s Misratah FM Transmitter that housed around 2 kW in transmission power that was approximately 385 kilometres away towards Misrata. 73 😊

AM DX SW 17790 KHz Vatican Radio in Tamil From Malta. It was caught on 20/09/2025 at around 16:55 PM (UTC+2). The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors and the reception was doing quite well with its own telescopic antenna. As per Short Wave Info, it transmits daily from 16:50 PM to 17:10 PM (UTC+2). It is broadcasting from Italy’s Santa Maria Di Galeria Transmitter that houses around 250 kW in transmission power that is approximately 705 kilometres away towards Rome. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Maria Sant’ Antioco 87.5 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 07/09/2024 at around 10:35 AM (UTC+2). Medium to high duct level tropo around the Mediterranean as signals have been observed towards Sardegna all up to Albania. The place of catch is in Had Dingli which serves a good point direction towards the sea. Temperatures exceeded 28 Degrees Celsius during the day. It reached RDS levels by displaying ‘R.MARIA’. It switched to its easy frequency 107.2 MHz. Duct is heard that might be challenging from RTL 102.5 at times. It is broadcasting from Sardegna’s Sant’ Antioco FM Transmitter that houses around 6.3 kW in transmission power that is approximately 635 kilometres away towards Sant’ Antioco. 73 😊

FM DX TRT Radyo 1 Kirklareli 94.5 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2026]. It was caught on 18/07/2026 at around 12:30 PM (UTC+2). A surprise SpE opening towards Turkey whilst driving which was the only station that was received as it was a heavy duct tropo day. It was received in full RDS as shown ‘TRT RD 1’. The reception received was fair and audible. It is broadcasting from Turkey’s Kirklareli Demirkoy FM Transmitter that houses around 36 kW in transmission power that is approximately 1,320 kilometres away towards Kirklareli. 73 😊

AM DX MW 954 KHz Onda Cero Madrid From Oxford. It was caught on 15/12/2021 at around 02:00 AM (UTC+0). This was during the stay in Oxford due to family’s medical treatment reasons. The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors within the Conifers Guest House as it proved the reception was stable and audible. By 1:00, the countdown began for the news hour as by 1:08, the news ident began. It is still broadcasting from Spain’s Madrid Transmitter that houses around 50 kW in transmission power that is approximately 1,275 kilometres away towards Madrid. 73 😊

OIRT DX BR Kanal Kultura Mahilyow 71.96 MHz From Malta [Sporadic-E][2025]. It was caught on 20/07/2025 at around 16:15 PM (UTC+2). An OIRT opening towards Belarus. The TEF6686 was connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna but proved the area to be very weak, despite the device doing its efforts to maintain audibility in the reception. It is broadcasting from Belarus’s Mogilev FM Transmitter that houses around 8.472 kW in transmission power that is approximately 2,360 kilometres away towards Mahilyow. 73 😊

FM DX Radio Gattopardo Agrigento 90.3 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 27/08/2023 at around 00:35 AM (UTC+2). Moderate conditions to Sicilian shores was observed which this one overtook Radio Dimensione Suono which usually comes around with normal tropo conditions.ID is heard by 2:25 and 2:30 by mentioning ‘Radio Gattopardo’. The TEF6686 was operating on an old firmware at that time. It is connected with the 7 Element Yagi Antenna. It reached RDS levels by displaying ‘LICATA – 104 MHz – GATTPARD – PALMA – SMS:389 – 6564088 – 90.3 MHz – RADIO – with its PI Code ‘5359’. It is broadcasting from Sicily’s Palma di Montechiaro FM Transmitter of just only 160 Watts (0.160 kW) which is approximately 165 kilometres away towards Agrigento. 73 😊

FM DX Ambiance FM Mahdia 106.8 MHz From Malta [Tropo]. It was caught on 07/05/2023 at around 23:30 PM (UTC+2). The place of catch is around Wied Iz-Zurrieq. Tropo was moderate around the Mediterranean as temperatures stood around 18 Degrees Celsius. Id did not reach RDS levels. It is broadcasting from Tunisia’s Ksour-Essaf FM Transmiter that houses an unknown transmission power that is approximately 315 kilometres away towards Mahdia. 73 😊

AM DX SW 15150 KHz Radio Romania International In French From Malta. It was caught on 20/09/2025 at around 12:15 PM (UTC+2). The XHDATA D-808 was placed indoors which despite the reception is heard a bit weak, the audio is very much audible whilst it was using just the telescopic antenna. According to Short Wave Info, it is still broadcasting daily from 12:00 PM to 13:00 PM (UTC+2). It is broadcasting from Romania’s Galbeni Transmitter which houses around 300 kW in transmission power that is approximately 1,575 kilometres away towards Bacau. 73 😊
