With great joy we congratulate Br. Antoine Galea, confrere of our Savio College community, who has renewed his religious vows in the Salesian Congregation for a further two years.

We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Br. Oleh Kobilnets, Br. Wacław Szymalski and Br. Maciej Ochryniuk, who likewise renewed their religious vows as Salesians of Don Bosco.

Through their renewed “yes” to God, they continue their journey of following Christ in the footsteps of Don Bosco, dedicating their lives to the service of young people.

We thank God for the gift of their vocations and pray that He may continue to accompany them, strengthen them and fill them with joy as they live their Salesian calling.

Summer at Savio College is certainly not a quiet time! Alongside the many pastoral and educational activities taking place throughout the summer, work continues behind the scenes to prepare and improve our school for the new scholastic year.

Works currently underway include repairs and sealing works on the school façade to help prevent rainwater infiltration, together with general maintenance and painting in different areas of the school.

Electrical works have also been carried out in preparation for our new interactive panels, which have now arrived at Savio College and will soon be installed in our classrooms!

As part of this summer’s programme of improvements, the doors on Level 0 will also be replaced.

All these works, big and small, are part of our continued investment in providing a safe, welcoming and modern environment for our students and staff!

Day 5 | On the Footsteps of Don Bosco 🇮🇹

Our final day brought us to the breathtaking Alps of Cervinia, where we spent the day trekking surrounded by some truly spectacular scenery.

After several busy days visiting places, listening to stories and following in the footsteps of Don Bosco, today gave us the chance simply to walk, enjoy nature, spend time together and take in the beauty surrounding us. And, of course, there was plenty of fun and friendship along the way!

In the evening, we returned to Valdocco for one final and very special moment: celebrating Mass in Don Bosco’s rooms, the Camerette. 🙏

It was the perfect place to conclude our pilgrimage. We ended where Don Bosco spent the final years of his life, after having spent these days discovering where he was born, where he grew up, where he dreamed, where he celebrated Mass, where he met young people and where his mission gradually took shape.

Over these five days, we did much more than visit historical places. We walked through the story of Don Bosco.

From Becchi to Valdocco, from the room of the Dream at Nine to the Pinardi Chapel, from his encounter with Bartolomeo Garelli to the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians, we discovered that Don Bosco’s story was built through faith, courage, friendship and, above all, a great love for young people.

Along the way there was also plenty of adventure, laughter, football, trekking, ice cream and time spent together. And perhaps that too is very Salesian! 😊

As we bring this pilgrimage to an end, we return home carrying more than photographs and memories. We hope to carry with us something of Don Bosco’s heart, his joy, his trust in God and his belief that every young person deserves to feel welcomed, valued and loved.
