Year 8 students took part in an engaging Environmental Studies trek from the Chapel of St Matthew at Maqluba to the surroundings of Ħaġar Qim in Qrendi.
Throughout the walk, students explored the impressive Maqluba sinkhole, observed the rich Maltese flora and fauna, and studied the valleys, coastline, and natural landscapes that form part of our islands’ unique environment. The trek also provided an opportunity to connect geography with history, as students encountered sites and landmarks linked to different historical periods — from Malta’s prehistoric past, to the era of the Knights of St John, and the British period. A day of outdoor learning, discovery, and appreciation of Malta’s natural and cultural heritage.
