我返左溫哥華探望親友。時間真係過得好快啊! 我6、7年前教過既一個學生, 已經中學畢業, 去左美國讀環境工程。佢父母送左一枝紅酒比我，上面用左佢自己設計既酒標, 好特別既禮物啊!

I'm now in Vancouver visiting family and friends. Time flies! A student I taught 6 or 7 years ago already graduated from high school and is now studying environmental engineering in the States. His parents gave me a bottle of wine with the label he designed. How lovely!

過去半年每天都在忙碌工作中渡過，每日唔係上課就係睇書寫文，上星期終於收到IB寄比我既領導證書。其實取得呢個證書只係一個開始，因為始終最重要都係在工作中實踐學習左既理論。過去呢一年我有幸同一隊富有經驗既課程發展同管理既團隊合作，十分
期待同佢地繼續學習！

The past six months have been incredibly busy for me. Each day was filled with a combination of work, reading, and writing. Last week, I was elated to receive the leadership certificate from IB, marking a significant milestone in my journey! However, I recognise that this achievement is just the starting point, as I firmly believe that putting the theories I've learnt into practice is the true test of my abilities in the workplace.

I've had the privilege of collaborating with an exceptional team throughout this year, and I am genuinely excited about the opportunities to further expand my knowledge in curriculum development and management through their guidance!

幾年前，我因為對探究式學習感到興趣，所以成為左IB既認證教育者。今年，我開始修讀IB既領導課程，因為今年除左擔任班主任之外，我仲會協助學校既課程發展工作。新工作對我尼講係一個相對新既角色，我覺得自己係課程編製過程、評估政策、領導理論同實踐方面都仲有好大既學習空間。

A few years ago, I became a certified IB educator as I got intrigued by inquiry-based learning. This year, I have started taking the IB leadership programme because aside from being a homeroom teacher, I am also helping in the school's curriculum development. This is a relatively new role for me and I feel like there's a big learning curve for me, especially in terms of curriculum processes, assessment policies, leadership theories and practices.

今個暑假，我修讀左耶魯大學一個關於讀寫障礙（dyslexia）既專業發展課程，了解到原來一般學生同讀寫障礙學生之間既閱讀差異係一年級就會開始出現，如果能夠係佢地仲係學習緊閱讀基礎知識既時候及早實施有效既干預措施（intervention）， 呢一個差距係可以縮小既。所以，小朋友係幼稚園開始學拼音（phonics）同培養語音意識（phonological awareness）係十分有幫助既！

This summer, I took a professional development course about dyslexia with Yale University and I learnt that difference in reading between typical and dyslexic students starts showing as early as first grade. If effective interventions are implemented early, when they are still learning the basics for reading acquisition, this gap can be narrowed. Therefore, it's actually beneficial for kids to be taught phonics explicitly and build phonological awareness as early as kindergarten.
