🚀Connecting China and Portuguese‑speaking countries through innovation and entrepreneurship

We are honoured to continue our support for the 929 Challenge, an initiative fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross‑border collaboration between China and Portuguese‑speaking countries.

Dr. Farhan Latif, Post‑Doctoral Fellow at United Nations University Institute in Macau, will serve on this year’s judging panel, bringing his expertise to guide and support emerging startups and innovators.

The 2026 edition will be held for the first time alongside the AIE Expo and will introduce the 929 Acceleration Program, extending support to startups beyond the competition. Building on previous editions, the initiative continues to strengthen connections across China and Portuguese‑speaking countries.

🤝 Advancing cross‑UN synergies for human‑centered innovation
United Nations University Institute in Macau recently welcomed Dr. Wen Hua and Ms. Dandan Zheng from UNFPA China for an exchange on AI governance, sustainable development, and inclusive digital innovation.

Joined by UNU Macau Director Dr. Jingbo Huang and team members, the discussions highlighted the importance of bridging research, policy, and international cooperation to support human‑centered approaches to emerging technologies.
