Batmunkh Luvsandash: 2025 winner from Mongolia 🏆🌍

✨ Batmunkh Luvsandash’s activism resulted in the creation of a 66,000-acre protected area in Dornogovi province in April 2022, abutting tens of thousands of acres already protected by Batmunkh and his allies. The protected area, in the heart of the Eastern Gobi Desert, forms an important bulwark against Mongolia’s mining boom.

Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark
20-29 June 2025

UNESCO and the Global Geoparks Network are co-organizing the International Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks 2025 which will deal with the topic “UNESCO Global Geoparks Management and Sustainability ”.
The Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks will be held from 20th to 29th of June 2025 in Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark (Greece) and it is organized in collaboration with the University of the Aegean-Department of Geography and the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest / Lesvos Island UNESCO Global Geopark.
