Data from the latest Global Economic Prospects report indicates that the global economy continues to grow steadily, but recovery has not yet been equal. Despite historic trade tensions and high-level policy uncertainties, the global economy shows more resilience than expected. However, recovery remains not at all.
🔹 The world economy is expected to grow 2.6% in 2026 and increase to 2.7% in 2027.
🔹 The 2020s are likely to be the lowest economic growth decade since the 1960s.
🔹 More than 1 in 4 developing countries still have per capita income below pre-COVID 2019
The clear challenge is maintaining economic resilience while closing the widening gap between developed international and developing countries, amid slowing growth, soaring debt, and employment pressure.
Global growth remains resilient, but the recovery is uneven and fragile.
