From Learning to Real Life 🛒💰

Our Year 3 students experienced the full AIM LifeReady: Money & Smart Buying journey - learning about needs and wants, prices, products and budgeting in class, applying those skills during a real shopping experience, and finally reflecting on the choices they made.

Learn. Experience. Reflect. Grow.

Because LifeReady is not just about knowing - it’s about learning how to make good decisions independently.

Ready for Life, not just exams. ❤️

AIM LifeReady: Money & Smart Buying 🛒💰

Today, our Year 3 students began their AIM LifeReady Programme with one of the most important everyday skills: Money & Smart Buying.

Before stepping into a real shopping environment, students learned that smart shopping is not simply about choosing the cheapest or the most expensive product. It is about looking carefully, comparing, thinking, and making a good decision.

During this LifeReady learning experience, students practised how to:

• Recognise and understand Myanmar Kyat notes and prices
• Tell the difference between Needs and Wants
• Read and compare price tags
• Compare similar products before deciding what to buy
• Check ingredients and understand what a product contains
• Look at the country of origin
• Find and check the manufacturing and expiry dates
• Understand product quantity, size and value for money
• Follow a shopping list instead of buying impulsively
• Stay within a given budget
• Add up the estimated cost of their purchases
• Communicate politely when asking for help
• Pay at the cashier and understand the importance of checking change and receipts

Most importantly, students discussed an important LifeReady idea:

“Cheap does not always mean bad, and expensive does not always mean better.”

We want our students to learn to ask questions such as:

Do I really need this?
Is this worth the price?
Which product gives me better value?
Is it safe and suitable for me?
Can I afford it within my budget?

These may seem like small decisions, but they are the beginning of becoming independent, responsible and financially aware young people.

AIM LifeReady begins from Year 3 and grows with our students each year through increasingly challenging lessons and real-world experiences.

Because at AIM, we are preparing our students not only to be ready for exams - but Ready for Life. 💛

🤍In times of hardship, every act of kindness matters. 🤍

AIM International School has donated 50 bags of rice to support families affected by the recent flood disaster.

We hope this small contribution can provide comfort, relief, and essential support to those going through this difficult time.

At AIM, we believe education is not only about academic learning, but also about teaching our children the values of empathy, compassion, responsibility, and giving back to the community.

Our thoughts are with all families affected by the floods. May everyone stay safe and recover soon. 🙏

📖 Education is a journey that builds step by step. A strong foundation in the early years, consistent effort throughout primary school, and good study habits in secondary school give children the best opportunity to achieve their full potential. Parents, teachers, and students all play an important role in this journey. 🏆
