Khin Zaw Latt became widely known both in Burma and internationally with his success in a série of art competition. He exhibited his work in Thailand, Hong Kong, Nepal, China, Singapore, USA, Canada, Germany, Belgium and in France @ RetouRDeVoyage.
A leader among the artists in Myanmar, he continually strives to help to develop the art scene in his home county, sponsoring initiatives to create an art archive; running two art galleries in Yangon, organising art residencies for artists outside of Yangon; and creating an art school, the Bamboo Art School, in order to teach art to young children who don’t have an access to culture .
He is recognised for three series in particular
Buddha, Moving Forward, Street People.
Since the military coup
Khin Zaw Latt, always very active, together with his wife, has organised an auction with works given by his fellows artists and by himself. Funds raised through social media (262 paintings sold in 10 Days I. Myanmar in July 2021) we’re used to help artists impacted by poverty and covid. In partnership with him, we decided to extend this action by collecting and selling works from Myanmar, through exhibitions from Khan Zaw Latt’s artworks already in Europe in different galleries.
This exhibition will open from October to mid november at Retour de Voyage, art gallery in L’Isle sur la Sorgue in the South of France.
The fund raised will be sent to Khin Zaw Latt n charge of their distribution between the care structures and the suffering people.

This weekend, we are very honoured to present Burmélange, an experimental music art from Myanmar as part of 𝘈𝘳𝘵 + 𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘦: 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩. Due to the current political situation in the country, the members of the group performed separate from each other for this programme.
One of the works they are responding to is San Minn’s 𝘈𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮. One of the first things that caught their attention was the blooming flower at the head of the female figure which, to the musicians gave off a lot of energy, beauty and strength, especially with her hand placement. This sense of toughness in the face of any challenges is what resonated deeply with the musicians.
To experience Burmélange’s response to this and other artworks from our collection, join us this Saturday at 2.30pm right here on the Gallery’s page!
