Today, we joyfully celebrate the Thingyan Festival at Day Star!
Thingyan, known as the Water Festival, is a cherished Myanmar tradition that symbolizes the cleansing of past misdeeds and the renewal of the spirit. Through the act of water pouring, it represents washing away negativity and welcoming the New Year with purity, peace, and new beginnings.
In celebration of this meaningful occasion, our summer camp students, together with some of our preschool students, participated in preparing and cooking traditional Myanmar snacks “floating sticky rice balls.”This activity was not only a joyful experience for the students, but also an opportunity to extend kindness to our community, as they shared the snacks they made with our neighbors.
It was a truly touching experience that reflected their generosity, compassion, and sense of community. This year’s celebration stands as a meaningful and memorable Water Festival, thoughtfully created by our students and teachers.
Our sincere appreciation goes to all the teachers for their dedicated efforts in making this celebration so joyful and meaningful.
