DAAD Scholarship funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is granting scholarships for development-related Master studies -- for individuals who wish to pursue a career in teaching and/or research at a higher education institution in Southeast Asia.

The two-year Master program at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD) aims at fostering strong, internationally oriented higher education systems in Southeast Asia with the capacity to contribute to sustainable development.

The Suu Myat Than Foundation Scholarship 2026 now opens for Myanmar students.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship Recipients:

To be eligible for the Suu Myat Than Education Foundation Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

-Myanmar Background: Applicants must hold Myanmar citizenship or provide documentation confirming prior residency in Myanmar before the current crisis.

-Accredited Enrollment in Asia: Applicants must be currently enrolled or have received an unconditional offer for full-time study at an accredited higher education institution located in Asia.

-Demonstrated Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate significant and verifiable financial need to complete their education due to hardship resulting from conflict or displacement.

-Academic Commitment: Applicants must show a clear commitment to completing their educational program and provide documentation confirming satisfactory academic standing.
