STEP’s national partner organizations (Scholar Institute Paññā Institute Badeidha Moe Civil Society Organization) are providing voter education training online for voters from Kachin State, Chin State, Mon State, Kayin State, Rakhine State, Ayeyarwady Region, Magway Region and Sagaing Region. Under the EU-funded STEP Democracy programme, International IDEA organized an online workshop on equal rights to vote for disabled voters for the UEC and 29 CSOs across the country that work for disabled people. U Hla Thein, Chairman of the UEC, and commission members also attended the workshop, emphasizing the need to ensure that people with disabilities do not lose their right to vote in the upcoming election.
