Do you think Destiny brings people together? 💫

In this episode of Kenneth Wong X BLAY's podcast, we talk about Burmese beliefs on encounters, partings and relationships. 👀✨

In Burmese culture, destiny often comes as droplets of fate that make people meet, become friends, or even lovers, thanks to deeds from past lives. The romantic destiny is said to be written on the forehead of humans, decided by the “God Who Scribbles on the Forehead.” And when those droplets of fate run out, it signals to part ways, even never to meet again. 💔

Have you tried Burmese breakfast before? 🤔💭

In Myanmar, breakfast is simple, hearty and full of flavors. From neighborhood tea shops to home kitchens, these dishes are what fuel the morning:

𝐓𝐞𝐚 (လက်ဖက်ရည်): sweet, mild or strong, the drinks that start the day

𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚 (မုန့်ဟင်းခါး): rice noodles in savory fish broth, Myanmar’s go-to breakfast

𝐊𝐚𝐮𝐤 𝐇𝐧𝐲𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐠 (ကောက်ညှင်းပေါင်း): steamed sticky rice with peas, sesame, and coconut shavings

𝐇𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐲𝐚𝐰 (ထမင်းကြော်): fried-rice, sometimes served with fried egg on top

𝐍𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐲𝐢 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐞 (နန်းကြီးသုပ်): thick rice noodle salad mixed in rich chicken curry, garnished with boiled egg and onions.

👉 Which one would you try first: 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚, 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐨𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐲𝐢 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐤𝐞?
